Maria de Lourdes Orozco Cuautle Dolls Collection

This collection includes photographs representing a selection of traditional dolls from the collection of Maria de Lourdes Orozco Cuautle, accompanying images of doll artisans and individuals in traditional outfits matching the collected dolls, and a growing number of accompanying interpretive storymaps created by Maria and University of Toronto Scarborough students. The dolls in this collection come from over 60 countries and serve as historical and cultural testimonies to the skills and lives of the women who made them. Many of the dolls in the collection represent indigenous stories and relationships with land, family and community.
