Reflective Sketch
-
Description
-
My drawing includes different elements that each play a certain role in influencing the concept of health. The overall idea that I wanted to come across was that health studies encompass a wide range of ideas that all intertwine with each other, and ultimately all have significance to a society’s well-being. Some of the symbols that I have drawn are meant to symbolize healthcare justice, societal influences, and culture. These are also the notions that I have observed throughout this pandemic. The current situations have been an example of how culture, justice and societal influences affect the well-being of populations worldwide. This may be dependent on whether a country chooses to get through the pandemic with prayers, elections being driven by health plans for COVID, or providing all patients with equal care.

Photographic Collage

Description

This collage represents several aspects of my new life during the COVID-19 pandemic. My lifestyle has been the same for the past couple of years. As a type 1 diabetic, routine is super important to be able to keep up with a healthy life. The images I have collected simply represent my new life during this pandemic as I continued to care for my diabetes. I began to change my choices, including diet change, which affected my mental and physical health. As I started to feed my body what it truly needed, I never realized how my own decisions affected all aspects of my life. My choices to learn more about my faith with God and Buddha allowed for me to be spiritually free and put my trust in God--I prayed for my family and the people around me to remain safe during the pandemic. I’ve also included photos of facial masks and hand sanitizer. This was important to me because it also shaped my personal understanding of the pandemic. My life before the pandemic never consisted of these two items, but now these are essentials in my life.
