Draft of an autobiography of Doris McCarthy's early life leading up to purchase of and move into her own home "Fool's Paradise", Pages 1-13 13 until mid-September, and after I came back from Ken's, Curry and I had a rare opportunity to paint the autumn colours. We lived in one of Ron's summer cottages, on Hall's Lake in Haliburton, and painted and painted. We paid for those weeks of freedom by a lengthened school day, "with school getting worse and worse every minute with an increase of time, and tightening of details and a growing sense of pressure. I am fed up. Except that along with it this year has come the new course of study which lets us try expressive illustration and for me marionettes! I'm having fun with them". good
